 Corian is a character on OtakuMUSH. She is the intellectual property of her player. (She's mine, and you can't have her!)
 Childhood Born to Sirron and Novinha Treston, Corian has no younger siblings, and one older half-brother, Riley Addison. Through Riley, she has countless adopted siblings, but, in the interest of sanity and saved space, they will not be listed here. Novinha, her mother, is an engineer, and her job required that she travel extensively during Corian's childhood. As Sirron's sculpting profession was successful enough to allow this mobility, the family sometimes traveled with Novinha. That made for a somewhat difficult childhood for Corian, as she was not the most outgoing youngster. She kept in touch with Riley and his family, however, occasionally spending short periods of time with them, and they kept her from becoming too much of a recluse. She was generally a fan of reading, however. It was an offhand comment from an uncle--that a certain book was better in its original language--that got her interested in learning other languages. Education Because of the aforementioned moving, Corian's education was a bit haphazard, though she and her father traveled less frequently with Novinha when Corian reached the end of primary school, to allow for more stability. She had a fairly uneventful passage through secondary school, and opted to continue for a tertiary education in, unsurprisingly, linguistic studies. This particular degree program gave Corian the opportunity to learn languages by spending time on a planet where said languages were spoken. This method, she found, worked the best for her. She graduated with departmental honors, though without much in the way of extracurricular activities. Career After graduation, Corian received a fellowship which allowed her to continue linguistic studies. As, with an Edreeni love of the obscure, she chose languages that most people didn't study, she had no trouble finding employment, and the opportunity to learn more. She doesn't often say just how many languages she speaks, but it is a relatively large number, and she is obviously fluent in the 'official' languages of the four major races. Since the year after her tertiary graduation, she has spent a maximum of six months on any one world, and generally much less. As she plans to stay at least a year on Linnae, it may be inferred that she has decided to settle down for a time. Genetics Corian is 5/8 Edreeni and 3/8 Human. This could be seen in her appearance, if one knows what to look for, as she is a bit shorter than your standard Edreeni. She was reared on the Human/Edreeni colony world of Kashid, and seems to have more behavioral characteristics of an Edreeni, as well.
