Elasia edges quietly into the room, carrying a small plasboard box.
Niko sleeps! No, actually, he's just kind of nodding over his book, and your
movement, even as slight as it is, is enough to wake him. "Bedwyr," he
mumbles, before lifting a hand to rub at his eyes. "That was the -oddest-
dream. Good morning, hon."
Elasia goes to set her box down with a quiet thump onto the coffee table.
Glancing over to what you're reading and offering a grin of greeting she
replies, "I don't doubt it. King Arthur and plasma burns probably make quite
an interesting mix." She heads to bed's edge, leaning over to drop a kiss
onto the top of your head. "How are you feeling this..." She has to check the
time, as she's been long since awake, "Morning."
Niko says vaguely, still mulling over his dream, "And the band from the Fruvous in armor, but back on Hellas. Clara didn't come put some more drugs in that, did she?" He gestures towards the IV, adding, "I'm fine. I was just resting my eyes while I waited for you to get back, that's all."
Elasia straightens back up, heading to the living area and rummaging through
the piles of paper in the box. "Not that I'm aware of, love." She tugs out a
thick folder, eyeing it with distaste. "Sorry I was gone so long. I was
hoping you wouldn't wake up, and considering the hour I got called down you
think I'd've been back soon enough you would've slept through it. But things
ran later than I'd thought."
Niko wrinkles his nose as he eyes the folder. "You did get -some- sleep, didn't you?" he inquires, with a hint of concern. "Maybe I -should- steal you off to Hellas--though it's likely going to be a whirlwind of a trip."
Elasia also tugs a pen from the box, "A little. And I got some nappage in yesterday and all." The pen gets tucked behind one ear for easy access as she starts to scan the folder's contents. "Somehow I don't think they'd appreciate ya' squeezing in civillians." She offers you a tired smile, "Besides, your family might not really be thrilled either."
Niko reaches to steal the pen. "My family," he says softly, "Will love you.
Getting you on the ship would be a little more difficult. But you look like
you need a break."
Elasia pauses to consider the pen theft, then reaches into the box to snag a
second one, which she tucks behind her ear. With an almost smug look, and in
a fit of maturity, she sticks her tongue out at you. "It's just you're going
to have a lot to discuss with them and all, and the presence of strangers
might be a bad thing."
Niko is nothing if not persistent, and swipes the second pen, reaching for the box as well. Isn't he obnoxious? He must be feeling better. "Maybe another time," he agrees, though not without obvious regret.
Making off with the pens is one thing, but the attempt at box theft gets a
snicker and a quiet erk as Elasia attempts to rescue it. "Niko," she
admonishes quietly, "I need that. They'll have a duck downstairs if I don't
get it finished up..." She moves her other hand to rest atop yours on the
box. "There will be other chances to visit. Goodness knows, I'd love to see
home. All in good time."
Niko doesn't seem inclined to release the box. "You just got back," he notes,
"You've been gone for hours, likely subjected to them going on and all. It
can't be so urgent that you can't take a little time to relax. Besides," he
adds, "It'll be entertaining for the folks down in Quarantine if they have a
duck."
Elasia sighs quietly, but lets go of the box's edge. "I'm new here." She attempts by way of explanation, "I don't want them to get a bad impression."
Niko sighs very quietly, and returns the box. "I guess I can sympathize with that. Just don't do too much, okay?" Reverse deja vu, anyone?
Elasia rummages in the box for a third pen, "I won't. Besides, none of this is particularly difficult. Just reading through and spell checking and the like. Nothing I can't do and poke at you at the same time."
Niko nods agreeably enough to that, curling up on his side on the bed, the
better to watch you. Rubbing lightly at his hand, he says, "Just don't use
the pen for that, okay? Poking, I can handle, but -ink marks-..." Oh, the
horror.
Elasia hmphs softly in amusement as she sets about scanning the pages, "Aww, you don't want to be drawn all over. Dang, there go my plans for the day."
Niko considers that for a moment, with a quiet laugh. "Well, if you -really- want to... just make sure not to use red ink. That'd likely startle too many people, when I get out and about later." He says that very casually, yup.
Elasia seems to consider this at length, "Okay, blue will have to do." She
hunches over the pages, "Do you have an idea of when you want to head
downstairs?"
Niko lifts his shoulders in a careful shrug. "I was waiting for you to get back before I made any definite plans. Depends on whether Riley's awake and all. I could comm Clara, I guess." Minor problem, there, though.
"Or try comming him," Elasia suggests as she flips through pages. "If he's a stir crazy as you are, he'd probably appreciate that."
And lo, a solution to the minor problem comes from on high. "I could do that," Niko agrees, with a grin. "You really are brilliant, hon. Thanks."
Elasia shakes her head at you with a rueful chuckle, "If you say so."
Niko just grins, lifting his comm-unit.
You faintly hear a chime mark the hour.
You say "*quietly* Casymed here. I've infiltrated the fourth floor. No
information to report as yet, but I'll keep my eyes open. *muffled laugh* You
awake, Riley?" into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and says "There's a long pause and then a rattle
of sound, "Aha! There's the thing. If you find where they're holding my
sanity hostage, let me know ASAP." There's a quiet chuckle, "Yeah, mostly."
in Riley's voice.
You say "The way luck's going, it's in Lexington's quarters. Could you stand a visitor? Ela needs to get some work done, and she'll likely have better success if I'm not around to pester her." into the communit.
Elasia lifts her brows at that, not about to let you go alone.
Niko catches the lifted brows and murmurs, communit clicked so that Riley can't
hear, "Come on, Ela. It's not -that- far."
Your communit crackles to life and blares "Company'd be great. Anytime." in
Riley's voice.
Elasia shakes her head, on this she will not budge. "I'll stay outside again,
but if you go, so do I. I don't think Clara'd approve of you traipsing off by
yourself."
You say "*pause* Okay. I'll be down in a bit, then." into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and blares "See you then." in Riley's voice.
Niko just sighs. "All right, Ela. If it'll make you feel better." This is not,
after all, being done for -his- benefit. Goodness, no. He rakes his hands
through his hair, making it look marginally better, then gets carefully to
his feet. "This'll be fun."
It's a good thing Elasia works with diplomats all day, or she probably would
have long since lost her patience. As it is she just shakes her head
goodnaturedly, "It would." She goes to snag the wheelchair, although she does
not wheel it over to you. "After you."
Niko casts a look of mild distaste at the chair, though -you- get a quick
smile. "Thanks, hon."
You leave the room, pulling the door shut behind you.
[Travelspam deleted.]
Elasia parks the chair next to the door and leans against the wall, "See you in
a bit, love. Don't get tired out."
Niko pauses outside Riley's door. "Hon, you don't have to wait out here. You can come inside if you like, or go back upstairs..."
Elasia is still a bit shy to go invading hospital rooms of people she barely knows and reddens a bit. "I'll be fine. Skeedle on in."
Niko pauses to give you a quick kiss. "If you say so," he murmurs. "I probably
won't be that long."
You unlock the door and go into room 0.
Room S4
Evidently along one of the outer walls of the Complex, this room is bright an airy given the picture window overlooking the Pavilion, although the glass is polarized to be mirrored from the outside. Despite the window, the room is warmly comfortable, and furnished to match. The floor unfortunately is that unrelieved white tile, but covered in the center with a carpet of swirled shades of blue. In the center of the room is an oversized hospital bed, rails and monitors in place, but a double and long enough for an Edreeni. A rocking chair is in a far corner next to a vidscreen and a small table, opposite a dark brown easy chair that folds out to be slept on. The door to the necessary, immaculate and decorated in soothing sand colors, is in easy walking distance from the bed for the ease of the patient. Plants are scattered here and there to soften the effect of the room further, as well do quietly tasteful Chinese landscape silk screen prints on the walls.

Riley
Obvious exits:
Out
You come in from the Housing Hub.
Riley is still hooked up to all the wires and tubes, and is an unnaturally pale
shade, but he seems cheerful enough. "Not too bad. Still fuzzy with all the
drugs and all, but pretty much fine." FIne, uh-huh, right. "They're letting
you up and about then?"
Niko, expression vaguely amused, nods. "Yeah. Ela's watching me like a hawk,
though," he adds, with a small grimace. "Though I can't really see as I blame
her."
"Me either," Riley offers with a wry grin, "Under the circumstances and all. You probably scared her within an inch of her life, eh?"
Niko nods at that, echoing the wry grin. "That's very likely, yeah." He
stretches his legs out before him, adding the obligatory, "I'm fine, though.
She doesn't need to worry -now-."
"Uh-huh," Riley says with a wry chuckle, "We both are. Just fine and ready to go participate in roller derby or something." There's a slight shake of his head, conserving energy and all, "And I'm sure she's buying that line as much as I am, eh? Has she beaten you upside the head yet?"
Niko pauses a beat, considering that roller-derby option. Skating would -surely- be easier than walking. It's like a wheelchair! "Not yet," he says, managing to sound a little abashed. "I'm not far from it, though, I think."
"Patience is a good thing," Riley offers, although not without a hint of rue to
his tone, "Not that -I'm- any good at it, so I don't know where I get off
suggesting it. The only reason I've been behaving is that misbehaving is well
nigh impossible."
Niko's lips quirk just a bit. "I'm not being -that- bad, though, Riley. I'm
doing what Clara and Ela say." Eventually. "I just need to get back on my
feet if I'm going to be on that ship, that's all."
There's a bit of an evil smile at that particular comment as Riley notes, "You'll be expected to be behaving on that ship too. See, I happen to know the commander. And if you don't behave... Well, she'll likely threaten to take you over her knee or something. If I were you I'd rest up."
Niko blinks several times, looking a little disconcerted by that particular comment. "Who is it?" he inquires. "And of course I'll behave on the ship. What else would I do?" Under 'innocence' it says 'See Niko, but he's faking.'
"My sister Evvy. Who has been informed of your status as her brother, and will be taking all appropriate steps to insure you are treated accordingly. Which means," And Riley grins all too innocently, "You're doomed if you aren't very careful to get well first." A quiet tone of musing creeps into his voice, "She never had a -younger- brother before, just older ones, and she was evil enough to -us-..." Okay, Niko may be innocent, but Riley is -conniving-.
Niko listens in rapidly growing horror. "You planned this," he says, a note of accusation in his voice. "-Riley-. Younger sisters can be bad enough..." He sits back in his chair, just shaking his head. "I'm doomed."
Riley does not deny the accusation, instead chuckling quietly. "Doomed indeed.
But hey, if it gets you to behave, it'll get me brownie points with Clara
maybe. And I could use all the brownie points I can get." He lifts one
shoulder in something akin to a shrug, "You've been sacrificed I'm afraid
Nick." There's a pause, "And this way I know you're safe, eh? I trust Evvy to
take care of you."
Niko is silent for a few minutes. "I really -can- manage to look after myself, Riley," he says slowly. "Really. As much as I appreciate the sentiment...
Riley doesn't comment at that at first, but there's a knowing silence. "Let me
just say I don't regret arranging it." Good grief, and he thought Clara was
stubborn.
Niko still looks a little grumbly about the situation, but shakes his head. "Brownie points for you with Clara," he says slowly, "Maybe Ela will like it, too." He lifts his shoulders in a cautious shrug, then. "What's she like? Evvy, I mean. Or whatever I'm going to be calling her."
A quiet conversation outside the door ensues in a soft female, then male
counterpart before the door clicks open and Clara comes in with a stack of
holovid crystals and a sixpack of red-becanned soda. "Lock up the doors! Hide
the men! I'm ho-...oh. Hi, Niko!" she greets cheerfully. "Want a soda?" She
doesn't bother asking Riley, but unhooks one can and leans across the bed
railing to offer it to him.
You faintly hear a chime mark the hour.
"Evvy works, or Commander Ulquette." Riley answers quietly, "She's a
very..powerful woman." He grins at Clara's entrance, chuckling softly, "Heya'
love, how're you doing?" He accepts the can with a beamed grin and hefts
himself semi-upright against a pillow.
Niko peers over his shoulder to lift a hand to Clara. "Hiya. Infidel beverage,
no thanks. I could hide under the bed?" Riley's words do not make him look
even remotely relieved. "Oh, boy," he murmurs, reciting a mantra of 'doomed'
under his breath for a minute or two, as well.
Clara snickers quietly and unhooks one can for herself and stows the others in
the small fridge acting as a bedside table that I just now decided is there.
She climbs onto the far side of the bed to sit at the foot tailor fashion and
smirks. "No, indeed, mister. You hide under that bed, I drag you out by
force. And you'll do fine with Riley's sister. See, you're not Terran," she
explains, adding a wink at Riley.
Riley takes a long swig of soda, all but sighing in blissfull relief.
"Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful stuff." He mmmhms, "Evvy's really a good
person, honest. She'll just make sure you take care of yourself is all. It's
only doom if you're misbehaving..."
Niko casts a rather puzzled look between Riley and Clara, then lifts his
shoulders in a small shrug. "Well, seeing as how I don't plan on
misbehaving," he says blandly, "I guess I'll be fine." Despite the fact that
the situation still bothers him, as is obvious.
"You will be," Clara states firmly, then finally pops open her own can. "It's a
short trip, anyway, and then you'll be home for a few days, and trying not to
tell your grandmother that you know people who eat tziziki sauce with fries.
It's an adventure."
Riley is engaged in the draining of his soda, somewhat distracted from the
conversation at hand by the consumption of soda. "Adventure, yeah, got to
behave and all though."
Niko casts an exasperated look at Riley, though his tone is mild enough. "I
will." Clara's words elicit a glimmer of humor. "Somehow, I think we'll
manage to find other topics of conversation."
Clara shakes her head at the single-minded soda consumption with a faint grin,
then clambers off the bed and leaves her mostly full can on the bedside table
before coming around to Niko, having snagged her medkit on the way. "Since
you're here, I may as well give you a checkup. I do hope you have an
enjoyable trip, though."
Niko nods agreeably enough to that. "Oh, it'll be good to be home, even if it's
for such a short time. I can even bring back some of the good tziziki from
Cypri's."
Hello? Did Riley hear mention of good tziziki? His ears all but perk up at that
as he carefully sets the soda can on the small table. "Hey, for tziziki I'll
even suggest Evvy lay off..."
Clara makes a face at that, shaking her head. "I'm sure Ela will appreciate that. I have no clue how she finds decent food to cook ethnicly here with, but then I don't cook, so I wouldn't have a clue anyway." She unholsters her scanner and kneels down. "Sit up straight," she murmurs.
Niko beams at Riley, obligingly sitting up straight at Clara's request. "I'm
sure we can work something out."
Clara snickers quietly to herself, snapping on the scanner and starting to run it over Niko's midsection. Her brows lift slightly and she tugs up his shirt without warning to peek under the bandaging. "Whatever she's feeding you, I want the recipe for Medbay. You always heal this fast?"
Niko lifts his shoulders in a small shrug. "I've mostly only broken things in the past, Clara. Never gotten zapped by a plasma bolter before. It's probably Ela's cooking." He squints towards the bandage, asking hopefully, "So I can get rid of all that stuff?" He gestures towards the monitor and IV.
Riley watches the goings on with only slightly fuzzed interest, and the fuzzing
is probably due to the fact he's trying to figure out how much tziziki to try
and bribe out of Niko.
Clara considers for a long moment without answering, running the scanner up over the shoulder blast as well, then reaches up a hand and clicks off the IV, watching Niko carefully. After a moment, she asks, "Any pain?"
Niko is silent for a long moment. "Not a -lot-," he says finally. "More than
bearable, really." Yes, he hates the IV that much. And, yes, he feels
compelled to add, "I'm fine."
And somebody give Ela a cookie for not having already kicked him.
Clara is more watching the monitor, though, for the telltale signs of reaction to pain, then nods slowly and suggests, "May I direct your attention to our fascinating Security Chief? Talk at him for a moment," she explains, busying herself in withdrawing the various needles for the IV.
Riley hmphs in quiet amusement, trying to hide the fact that he's jealous indeed. "I'm fascinating now am I? When did I get upgraded from annoying?"
Niko agreeably turns his attention to Riley. "So how much tziziki would it take?" he inquires. At Riley's question, he hides a grin.
"Frustrating, wicked, evil, irritating, obnoxious," Clara corrects herself for
Riley's sake, continuing the deprecating litany as she continues
disconnection.
Riley considers this a moment, "I'm not sure, Evvy's -awfully- determined and
all. She might confine you to a bunk for the trip..." He hmpfs at Clara,
grinning, "I feel the love in the room."
Niko acks quietly at Riley's news. "-Bad- idea." He pauses a beat, then inquires, "Is it going to be the same ship for the return trip, then?"
"Why would he be confined to quarters?" Clara asks absently, tucking the used
tubing in a disposal unit before rising to watch the monitor for a few more
moments. "And of course you do, dear. I can't play favorites with my
patients."
Riley shifts back down to his former position carefully, "Yeah, hence the
obscene turnaround. Hellas is on her manuvers list, she just scooted it
around to a week from now instead of two months from now is all. Dive in, do
a quick survey, dive back out." He grins at Clara, "Cause I've warned Evvy
he's due the consideration and cruelty of any of the rest of her brothers.
And if he doesn't behave and get altogether well first... Well she might have
to take care of him, see."
Niko peers at the monitor as well, silently willing the numbers to stay in the
acceptable range. He leans against the back of the chair, clearly enjoying
the absence of IV, before wincing--at Riley's words, presumably. He mutters
to himself, "... not -really-... brother."
Clara glances up from the monitor, amused. "My love, you are -almost- evil
enough to be a doctor," she notes, then resumes watching the fairly steady
numbers, adding a poke at Niko's shoulder. "Biology doens't make a family. It
just adds additional family."
Riley looks altogether pleased at Clara's comment, "I'll take that as a
compliment...I think. Seriously though, if you're really as fine as you say,
you shouldn't have a lick of trouble with her. And even if there was no
relationship whatsoever, I'd still sic her on you."
Niko looks a bit abashed at Clara's words, murmuring a vague agreement. Hearing Riley, he grins rather crookedly, carefully not commenting on whether he's actually as fine as he says he is. "Well, that's... reassuring, I guess."
Clara peers up from the monitor to Niko thoughtfully. "If you can stand up and
take your shirt off, I'll remove the electrodes. If it hurts too badly to do
that, the monitor stays on. And don't try to fake it...I'll know," she adds
ominously."
Niko regards Clara unblinkingly for a moment or two. "Can you blame me for
wanting to get rid of it?" he inquires, almost plaintively. He adds, with a
crooked grin, "I can stay sitting and take off the shirt, no problem. These
buttons are snazzy." After a moment, though, he does gear himself up, and
stands, albeit slowly. "It does hurt," he admits, before Clara can say
anything.
Clara is carefully watching the monitor, and extends a hand to rest on Niko's
arm, as if for support. Brow furrowed in concentration, she finally shakes
her head. "Sit down, Niko. I'm not taking you off the monitor yet. Be -very-
glad I'm not tossing you back on the IV." As it is, she crouches down to the
medkit to start prepping a hypo.
Niko eases himself back to the chair, an expression of frustration crossing his
face. He doesn't express that verbally, though, instead murmuring, "Whatever
you say, Clara."
You faintly hear a chime mark the hour.
Clara glances back at Riley with a half grin. "I swear the stubbornness has to be genetic You're both awful," she tells you both, and presses the hypo into Niko's arm. "Extended release low grade painkiller. You'll have twinges of discomfort, but at least it gets rid of some of the tubing."
Riley is all innocence, "Me? Stubborn? Not like that..."
Niko murmurs a thankyou to Clara. "I do appreciate getting rid of the tubing,"
he adds. Turning to his brother, he nods, then, with great dignity,
raspberries him.
Clara just gives Riley a -look-, then shakes her head and taps a few queries
into the monitor before reassembling her medkit. "Otherwise, you're healing
wonderfully, Niko. My compliments to your capable nurse. You should be fine
for the trip...if you don't do nuthin' stupid."
Riley is not just the picture of innocence, he's a signed and numbered limited
edition print of innocence. A whole text on the subject with footnotes and a
concordance. "Hey, I've been behaving..." Not that he has a -choice- of
course...
Niko offers Clara an innocent smile. "Stupid? I wouldn't do -that-, Clara." See? Innocence, radiating, it's -got- to be genetic.
Clara gives you both looks of patent disbelief, rolling her eyes. "Uh-huh. I
know you both way too well," she explains, crossing to the bed to check some
of Riley's more numerous and complicated monitors, then simply taps his own
IV line and gives him a significant look.
Riley looks excessively sheepish, "I only tried to pull it out that -once-," he
mutters quietly.
Niko's brows arch at that. "Wow, and I thought -I've- been obnoxious."
Clara nods absently at Niko's statement. "He's an awful patient. I have to threaten him nonstop," she says solemnly, although flickers a mischevious look at Riley. "You're lots easier to deal with, Niko."
Riley mutters something about special circumstances and being tired of having
things blamed on the drugs. "I have been good. One guard bribery for a book
and one attempted IV removal because people keep ignoring me and saying it's
the drugs do not a bad record make. I don't think. I hope not. If so I'm
really doomed."
Niko just beams at Clara's words, looking decidedly smug. Of course, that
expression shifts to sympathy as Riley speaks. "I feel for you," he says
sincerely, though he doesn't list any of his admittedly more minor
transgressions.
"Ask not for doom the bell tolls," Clara intones, shaking her head slightly as
she checks differing readouts, then moves to the IV to make a minor
adjustment. "I'm reducing the cortrazime, Riley. Now you'll have to watch
what you say."
Riley looks distinctly grateful as the IV's adjusted, "I was watching what I
said anyhow. Just not very -well- see."
Clara simply smiles innocently as she continues to adjust and check various
lines and instruments, then gestures for Riley to lie back. "On your back,
mister. I'd like to check the incision before I leave you two to discuss
whatever men talk about."
Niko promptly looks away, apparently finding great interest in his monitor
numbers. Or maybe he's just plotting some way to fudge the readout, so he can
take off the electrodes. In any event, though, he's not gonna see the
incision.
Riley doesn't reply at first, he's looking a bit glazed. He edges down completely flat. "Was just threatenin' him with Evvy, is all."
Clara starts to unsnap Riley's shirt, casting a slightly amused look at Niko. "There's nothing to see," she notes, grinning. "Synthskin is wonderful stuff." She returns to starting to lift the bandage, then pauses and rests her hand on Riley's chest, frowning. "The pain is worse. Unbearable?"
Riley shakes his head in a brief negative, "Nah, just give me a minute to catch
my breath and all."
Niko glances over at Clara's words, brows lowered in concern. "Drugs are handy, Riley," he says lightly, if hypocritically. "Especially when it hurts."
"He's still on them," Clara notes to Niko, still concentrating before she
returns to checking the synthskin covered hole. "I'd just like to start
reducing the dosage so it isn't a shock when you go off it completely," she
adds to Riley.
Riley's eyes are starting to sag a bit, "Yeah, good plan. Plan..."
Niko glances back towards the monitors for a moment, then murmurs something
about leaving so Riley can get some sleep. "We can talk later about the
tziziki," he adds.
Clara glances back apologetically, hands working to replace bandaging and shirt
snaps. "Need help getting back upstairs, Niko?"
Niko considers that for a moment, then shakes his head. "I don't think so." Of
course he's also fairly sure that Ela's lingering somewhere near, and she'll
be more than willing to... offer help.
Zoning still further, Riley's easing further and further from coherant and awake. At least he's quiet about it, no more random murmuring.
Clara sighs softly and tugs the blanket over Riley, an oddly torn expression on
her face. She's -like- to up the dosage again, but it really does need to
start coming down. She turns away and grins apologetically at Niko. "He's
about half out already. I can go scout down Ela for you if you'd like, or you
can do it if you want. Or you can stay here and zone as well, and I'll scoot
out and go be a mad scientist in Medbay."
Niko gets carefully to his feet, pausing a moment before he says, "She's likely lurking somewhere nearby. If not, I can make it upstairs okay."
Clara watches carefully, then nods after a moment and crosses to squeeze Niko's
arm. "Thanks for coming to visit," she says in a low voice. "It's good for
him, and for you. Give Ela my best, will you? I need to take that woman out
to lunch someday."
It should come as no surprise that Riley's out cold entirely at this point, or
he'd be polite and say goodbye or something.
Niko smiles rather crookedly at your first statement, nodding. As you continue, his head bobs once more, and he says, "I think that's a really good idea. Maybe -you- can get her to take it easy. She's doing too much. I swear, everybody I know..." He glances at Riley, then says, "I'll stop by again tomorrow, maybe. I need to get him to talk to, uh, Evvy for me."
Clara's grin flashes slightly as she steps back to pull off her jacket.
"Especially if you don't want to be confined to quarters," she agrees. "Or
stop back by later tonight. I can haul your lady friend off to dinner and the
two of you can sit here and worry about it."
Niko nods affably as he starts to drift towards the door. "Sounds good. Thanks,
Clara. I'll tell her."
You leave the room, pulling the door shut behind you.
General Housing Hub
The ubiquitous black marble is a bit worn in this room, especially along the
straightest path between the door and the desk from which housing is
requested. This path is relatively short, however, as much of the room
consists of a long hallway, doors lining the walls at equal intervals. Above
the reception desk, a monitor lists room numbers and current occupants. Light
tapestries and other forms of art occupy the spaces between each door, adding
a touch of the exotic.

Elasia
Obvious exits:
Elevator Lounge
You leave Room S4.
Elasia is waiting near the door, seated against the wall. As you show up she
scrambles to her feet, tugging the wheelchair over. "Have fun?" She indicates
the chair, "We had a deal, yes?"
Niko pads carefully out of the room, looking decidedly pleased with his current
IV-less state. "It was an interesting visit." Maybe it's that IV-less state
that prompts him only to cast an annoyed look at the chair, while he sits. "A
deal, or close enough, yeah."
Elasia notes the IV-less state as she tucks a blanket over your legs. "Thanks,"
she murmurs, presumably since you didn't argue the point. "Got rid of the IV?
Interesting?" She moves to push the chair out.
[Travelspam deleted.]
Elasia wheels the chair directly over to the bed before clamping the brakes,
"Home again..."
Niko nods as he shifts from the chair to the bed. "Very interesting. That ship,
to Hellas? Riley's... well, I guess she's my sister, too, now... anyway,
she's commander of the ship." He makes a vague noise of distaste as he
fumbles with the blankets. "Riley's evil."
Elasia moves the chair out of the way and then moves to assist with the
blankets, tucking a quilt around you. "Evil?"
Niko nods his agreement, reiterating, "Evil. Commander U--" He fumbles for the
name for a moment, then shakes his head, nope, it's not going to happen.
"Evvy's theoretically going to keep an eye on me during the trip there and
back. Riley said something about being confined to a bunk. It's only for four
hours or so each way, but -still-."
Elasia does not smile, or even grin, or even smirk. She's far too diplomatic
for that. She does mention quietly however as she finishes getting you
arranged, "I guess he knows you rather well."
Niko snorts very quietly. "I'm going to bribe him," he asserts. "Even if I've got to bring back enough tziziki to fill a swimming pool."
Elasia slides into the bed beside you, curling up close. She's gotten used to this by now, and doesn't hesitate. "Bribery is always an aceeptable diplomatic solution," she agrees noncomittaly. "How're you feeling?"
Niko makes a vaguely pleased sound at the curling-up-close, slipping an arm
around you. "Tired," he decides. "And it hurts--but not a lot. Clara gave me
something for it." He muffles a yawn, then adds, "She wants to have dinner
with you tonight."
Elasia reaches up to gently brush at your hair a moment, reordering the
lengthening curls. "Why don't you get some sleep then? It's the best
thing..." She trails off, "Dinner? S'fine with me."She pauses, "Just with me
though? Um..."
Niko confirms, "Just you, yeah. When I go to harass Riley again. -He- can't go
down to the dining facility, after all." The implication being, of course,
that Niko can. "Or wherever it is y'all are going."
Elasia doesn't look too thrilled with this. In fact she looks more than a bit nervous. Diplomacy aside, Elasia's a shy young woman, and this is a somewhat nervewracking proposal. "Oh." She pauses again, "Why doncha' get a nap."
Niko shifts away from you a bit, the better to peer at you. "You okay, hon?
It's just Clara, after all." Proof that he's a guy, Niko doesn't see anything
even remotely nervewracking about this.
"Yeah, fine." Elasia just curls back in closer. "Get some sleep, hmm?"
Niko is tired enough that he doesn't protest any more, instead agreeably
cuddling up to you. "Sleep. Good idea. 'ja get work done?" He's not quite
asleep yet, but he's clearly on the way.
Elasia shakes her head slightly, "I waited for you, I'll get it done in a bit."
She plants a careful kiss on your jaw.
Niko smiles at the kiss, mumbling, "Don't work too hard. Told Clara y'work too hard." He bites back another yawn, then finally stops talking.
Elasia tugs the blankets up further around you before slowly edging away and
back to her stack of paperwork.
Niko opens his eyes for a moment as you leave, but he closes them again soon
