Niko pads into the room looking thoughtful. "I'm home," he calls. "How's your
day?"
Elasia is sprawled on the couch, reading some official document. "Hello, love.
All right, how's yours?"
Niko tips a hand back and forth. "High points, low points." He moves to claim a kiss, then perch on an arm of the couch. "Nothing too exciting--oh. Clara said that Riley's off the IV, and some of the monitors, so that's good news."
Elasia returns the kiss gently, offering a grin. "That is good news." She
pauses and questions, "Low points?"
Niko hesitates a moment. "Bit of a discussion is all," he says vaguely. "Probably won't make a difference. I'm glad to be home, though."
Elasia starts to say something, but looking a bit sheepish she doesn't push the subject. "I'm glad you're home too." There's a pause, "A difference?"
Niko shakes his head as he slides down the arm of the chair, landing on the
cushion instead. "Uh, just more stuff with Guido. I was going to go talk with
him, maybe tomorrow."
Elasia blinks at that a few times, rather startled. "Um, is that a good idea?"
Niko lifts his shoulders in a small shrug. "Maybe. Maybe not. I think it needs
to be done, though."
Elasia looks a bit confused, "I just thought they had rules against things like
that."
Niko blinks. "Rules? Against... hm. Maybe. I hadn't really thought of that." His brows lower in a small frown. "I'll have to find out, I suppose."
Elasia nods a bit vaguely, "Interested parties prior to trial and stuff.
Especially if extradition proceedings have begun."
Niko is definitely displeased with this particular turn of events, but nods.
"Yeah. They have, I think. The proceedings begun, I mean. Hm. And this really
isn't...hm. Well. I guess I'll just have to see."
"Why do you want to talk to him," Elasia questions quietly.
Niko considers the answer for a moment, idly reaching to untie one of your shoes. "Just wanted to get his... opinion on something."
Elasia peers at the shoelace untying, "Something?"
Niko unties the other shoelace, and considers tying them to each other. No,
he's not that evil. "The incident in the rec hall." It's like pulling teeth,
getting information out of him, isn't it?
Especially since Elasia is in a very vague state, "With the tangler?"
Niko's head bobs in a brief nod. "That'd be the one, yes."
"His opinion on the incident with the tangler?" Ela looks singularly
unenlightened.
Niko starts to re-tie the poor, abused shoelaces. "Who he's going to tell about
it--or if he's mentioned it to anybody."
"Why would he mention it?" Elasia asks.
Niko says vaguely, "He doesn't like me. He tells the right--or, in my case,
wrong--people, it could... cause some difficulties. As I said, I guess I'll
have to wait and see."
No matching attributes found.
"Yeah, but he'd hurt himself a lot more than he would you if he told." Elasia looks for words, "See, then he'd be establishing a history of misconduct. And a revenge motive. He couldn't try and pass for a much lighter sentence based on intoxication or temporary insanity. Or anger at what will appear to be a random transfer if he leaves out the preceeding information."
Niko considers that, brows lowered in thought, now. "But if he -does- get off
lighter by not telling the whole story..." He shakes his head. "I honestly
don't know if he'd put self-preservation over a chance for revenge. Guess
we'll have to see."
Elasia nods thoughtfully, settling into the corner of the couch. "Yeah, we'll
have to see. Somehow I think it'll be mostly hushed up. It's a hell of an
embarrassment to the AF."
Niko nods at that, with a rather wry half-smile. "That it is." He leans closer
to give you a quick kiss. "I should've come and talked with you about this
from the beginning."
Elasia returns the kiss with care, "Maybe ask somebody who knows what the
judicial process will be."
Niko nods at that. "Another good idea," he says, with a fleeting smile.
"Thanks, hon. Maybe later tonight. Kaycen'd know--or he'd know who does know,
if he doesn't."
Elasia nods, "Or in the computer."
Niko's head bobs in a quick nod. "Easier to get a person to explain points,
though," he quips. "I'll come up with something."
Elasia says "reaches to pat your arm, "If you need any help just bgive me qa
yell.""
Niko offers you a fond grin. "I will, of course. I think I can put it on the
back burner for a little while, though. Rather talk to you about... well,
anything else."
Elasia chuckles quietly, nodding. "Even the annual rainfall in Greught?"
Niko considers that, then nods. "Even that." He unties one shoe, this time
tugging slowly on the shoestring. "Oh... did the nasty note from laundry
arrive yet?"
[I'm not quite sure why the RP ended here, but it did.]
