You say "Ela?" He's very quiet, and rather subdued, and maybe even a little
miserable. Aww. Can't you just feel the cuteness rays. "Ela, I'm sorry." into
the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and announces "Niko?" Ela's voice is distant, and she sounds like she's been crying. "Sorry?" in Elasia's voice.
You say "Ela, please, just let me come see you? You can kick me out again,
promise, just... for a little while? I really am sorry, I am." into the
communit.
Your communit crackles to life and blares "Niko, love, I can't do that. You'll just cute your way out of this the way you've done evey other time you wanted to do something that upset people." in Elasia's voice.
You say "So what do you want me to do, then?" It's more miserable than
accusatory. "The exam? I... I guess I can do that. Maybe. Would you let me
come home, then?" Aww, he really is pathetic, isn't he? But he's cute at the
same time." into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and says "You can go home if you want, but I'm
not there." Shh, okay, so technically she is, but not -ICly-. "And I'm not
going there. I love you Niko, more than life itself, which is why I can't
watch you stubbornly trying to kill yourself every time I turn around and
then playing on my affections, and those of other people, to get away with
it." in Elasia's voice.
You say "You're not there? Where are you, then? Ela, please..." into the
communit.
Your communit crackles to life and announces "I'm not saying, cause then you'd show up, and the effect would be the same." in Elasia's voice.
You say "So, what, you're just going to hide from me forever?" into the
communit.
Your communit crackles to life and blares "If I have to. I'll go home if that's what it takes. I will not be party to your self-destructive tendencies anymore, it tears me up. If this way of living is important to you, you don't need a wife. It isn't fair to either party involved." in Elasia's voice.
You say "Home?" He sounds more than a little lost. "Back to Hellas? But, Ela,
you can't do that--your job, it's what you want to do..." He takes a moment
to get himself pulled together, though he still sounds a little desperate.
"Ela, what do you want me to do? Whatever it is, I'll do it. Anything.
Please." into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and blares "If it's what I have to do to not have to watch you trying to break every bone you have for kicks..." Elasia sounds rather pathetically miserable, her voice barely carrying. "I just can't take it when it seems like you're -trying- to hurt yourself, -trying- to go out and do something that can get you killed. With your work, well that I can understand. It's this surreal tendency to think your leisure time requires punctuation by pain that terrifies me. I don't want to lose you Niko, and I can't stand by and watch you driving yourself into the ground. If that's what makes you happy, then we're better off apart." There's a pause, and the ace slips out of the hole with a sniffle. "And someday I want children Niko, and I don't want to have to raise them alone because you broke your neck trying to annoy people." in Elasia's voice.
You say "Ela..." Cruelty, thy name is Ela. That hit him, and hit hard. "Ela, whatever you want, I'll do it. I swear. -You- make me happy. Whatever you want." Yes, he's repeating himself. He's just a little rattled. That's all. Well, and panicking. "Please." into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and says "What I want is for you to lose the
deathwish, but I can't change you, or expect you to change, it's not fair to
you." in Elasia's voice.
You say "But.. but... Ela, I would change. I would, for you, if you'll let me.
Just give me another chance? Please? Let me try. I can do it. I can skate
only where people are supposed to skate, and wear the gear that Clara got me,
that sort of thing. I can't change my job, but the rest of it, I can.
Please?" into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and says "I can't ask you to do that though
Niko. You'd end up resenting me, and that would be worse even." in Elasia's
voice.
You say "You're not even going to let me try?" into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and announces "Niko, love, you can try anything
you want. But I can't ask you to change, don't you see? If not doing things
because they hurt other people isn't enough reason already, you'll just end
up hating me." in Elasia's voice.
You say "Then don't ask me. Just let me do it. Just don't go away, please,
Ela?" His voice cracks, but he manages to get it back to its normal, suitably
macho baritone. "I'd really like it if you'd stay. I love you. Please, just
come back home." into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and says "I don't -want- to go," Ela pretty much
loses it at this point and has to cover the comm. Even muffled, quiet sobs
can be heard. "I miss you." in Elasia's voice.
You say "Then don't go!" The crying does send him into a bit of a panic--tears are bad, and this is his fault, ack. "Love, please, tell me where you are. I'll be as uncute as possible, I promise. Just let me see you." into the communit.
Your communit crackles to life and blares "I'm at a friend's, I'll go back to
our place." in Elasia's voice.
You say "I'll be up as soon as I can." into the communit.
[Snip]
You knock on a door.
You faintly hear a chime mark the hour.
Elasia calls, "Come *sniffle* in?"
You unlock the door and go into room E16.

Out
You come in from the Elevator Lounge.
Elasia is seated cross-legged on the couch, looking a bit rumpled. Yes, Ela can be rumpled, it happens once in a while. She has Scutterbotch in her lap, and even the cat looks unhappy. She, Ela that is, not the cat, looks up as you enter, not saying a word, but simply looking miserable.
Niko looks altogether sheepish, and rather unhappy as well. Yes, this is one
sad sheep. Hot sheep? Well, despite his words, he probably does look cute.
Still needs a haircut, and his uniform collar is unbuttoned, for better
comfort. He comes to a rather uncertain halt just inside the door. "I'm
sorry," he says quietly. "Ela, I really am." He takes a rather tentative step
towards you, looking just a little uncertain.
"I'm sorry too," Elasia replies softly, eyes falling again to the cat in her
lap. There's a quiet sniffle as she attempts to keep from breaking down
again. And besides, the cat is exuding fewer cuteness rays. "I never meant
for it to come to this."
The sniffle does it. Resistance is futile, he is Niko of Borg. He makes his way
over to the couch and kneels next to you, doing his best to put his arms
around you. "You can't help getting upset, love," he murmurs. "I don't blame
you. I'm stupid, I do really stupid things. It's all my fault." He's -trying-
to make it all better, see.
Elasia is more than willing to have your arms around her, any good intentions
to the contrary. She returns the embrace, sliding her head against your
shoulder. The cat looks a bit squished, but there's casualties to everything.
"Missed you so much."
Niko holds you close, seeming really unwilling to let you go. He kisses the top of your head, eyes closing for just a moment. "Thank you," he says quietly. "Thank you for coming back, for seeing me. I was going nuts, being away from you so long, not knowing when I was going to see you again. I'm sorry."
Elasia doesn't seem particularly inclined to be let go of, instead gently
rubbing at your back. "It was not a happy thing. I belong with you," she
murmurs softly. "No matter what."
The poor, squished cat. Niko doesn't seem to have any concern for her, though,
only you. "I'll try to stop making you unhappy, love," he murmurs. "I really
will." And, for a miracle, he doesn't point out how long it's been since he's
broken anything. There are, yes, IC advantages to a roleplay hiatus. "And not
for you, for -us-."
Scutterbotch manages to worm free, allowing Elasia to snuggle closer. And since
he doesn't point that out, she can't point out that suceeding in breaking
oneself is one thing, but trying is just as bad, even if you fail. "I...thank
you Niko."
Niko blinks for a moment or two. "Thank me? Uh, you're welcome, Ela." He doesn't ask 'for what?', but he's confused. Poor confused male. He can cuddle, though, that doesn't take a lot of braincells.
Elasia sighs softly, taking a long steadying breath. "For being willing..."
Okay, that's supposed to be an explanation, maybe.
Okay, that doesn't help all that much. Niko just hugs you, murmuring into your hair, "Of course I'm willing. I love you. I couldn't do anything else."
Elasia hooks her fingers into your lapels carefully, as if attempting to keep
you from escaping. See, this is what she knew would happen if she saw you,
and likely she's kicking herself for giving in, but she's also tired and
unhappy and wants to be with you.
Niko is, yes, making such a concerted effort to flee. Ack. Eek. Help. Killer spouse, run away, run away. "You look tired," he says quietly, a hint of concern in his tone. "Maybe we--you--we--somebody should get some rest."
Elasia can't help but chuckle quietly at the confusion of terms, leaning up to attempt a gentle kiss to your cheek. "I'm very tired. Curl up with me?"
Niko is hardly going to object to being kissed, or to any curling up-ing. He
did sleep last night, of course, just not -enough-, as pining for one's
spouse isn't exactly conducive to restful sleep. "That sounds like a really,
really wonderful idea, love."
Elasia slides away just enough to climb to her feet, still not letting go
however of whatever part of your uniform jacket she's managed to catch onto.
"Warm and comfortable and together."
Niko, naturally, gets right to his feet, sticking close to you. You know, just
in case you take it into your head to vanish. "Together," he murmurs,
sounding altogether relieved by that particular word. "Thanks for letting me
stay, love." There's a pause, then he says, obviously doing his best -not- to
sound pathetic and cute, "Can I keep staying?"
Elasia slides down to a seat on the edge of the bed, her fingers trailing down along your side. "Of course, love. Forever and ever and ever."
Niko lets out a breath that he didn't know he was holding until he released it.
"Good, very good, thank you. Thank you very much." He lifts a hand to touch
your cheek, then says, a smile finally lighting his face, "I guess we should
get some rest, huh?"
Elasia brings her hand up to cover yours with a sad smile, "I think we should, yes dearheart. Sleep is wonderful, at least curled up with you."
Niko leans close to kiss your temple, then finally moves away to get rid of his uniform jacket and pants and such. (He's wearing boxers and the t-shirt from under his uniform, yes, but the pajamas are probably downstairs with the rest of his stuff.) Curling up against uniform buttons, after all, isn't suave. That done, he scoots into the bed, that being the logical place to curl up.
Elasia sheds clothing as well, tugging on her own pajamas and then snuggling under the blankets as well. A wave of her hand dims the lights as she snuggles in close to you with a quiet murmur of delight. "Ohh, much better."
Niko pulls you in fact a little closer, a quiet sigh escaping him. "Much
better," he echoes, relief and fondness and love and relief and
contentedness--and did we mention relief?--all mingling in his voice. "Love
you, Ela. I love you so much. Sleep well."
Elasia settles against you with a quiet yawn. "And I love you Niko..." her fingers curl into your t-shirt, holding on. "Sweet dreams dearest."
Niko murmurs something sounding vaguely like, "You, too," then closes his eyes. He doesn't drop off to sleep -right- away, but the contentment factor does its work pretty well, and he eventually drifts off to sleep.
Elasia isn't long for the world of the waiting, but instead curls against you and sleeps. Her hand tightens in the shirt though as she sleeps.
